YHA Okehampton Bracken Tor House has a variety of different bunk rooms, some looking out over the garden and towards the Ruby Country north of Okehampton. There are seven bedrooms ranging from two-bed and four-bed en-suite rooms to the largest eight-bed en-suite rooms as well as three rooms with shared bathroom facilities. The cosy lounge has a wood burner which is perfect for keeping warm during the winter months and makes a great feature with comfortable furniture to relax on.
In Okehampton town, there is a range of pubs, cafes and restaurants. There are also three supermarkets in the centre of the town which offer different shopping options. Some are open until 23.00.
In the grounds, there is a large flat grassy field that can take up to 20 tents, with a sheltered bushcraft area that can be used for campfires, subject to agreement with the site warden. This rural retreat is set right on the edge of Dartmoor and is a bit of a walk from the town centre but has excellent access for the moors.
YHA Okehampton Bracken Tor has a function room in a separate building that can be booked for activities like yoga.
